ChessVibes Openings
Thursday, December 31, 2009 at 10:19AM I've mentioned ChessVibes Openings before as a product for serious students of the first phase of the game*, and since this week's issue was especially good, I thought I'd mention it again. The authors of this weekly newletter (which gets emailed to you with a PDF and PGN file) are IMs Merjin van Delft and Robert Riis and the cost is 25 Euros/year. More info, including a sample issue, can be found here.
* This is a class that probably shouldn't include anyone not already near 2000 or playing serious correspondence/email chess. On the other hand, if you're 1100 and studying the opening is what gives you the most pleasure in chess, then go for it!

What opening are covered in this issue Dennis? Thanks a lot!
oops, should have followed the link, sorry!
I share Dennis's endorsement of ChessVibes. I should mention though that its not a coincidence that this last issue was particularly good since it is renewal time for those who joined a year ago. Still, its a worthwhile magazine for those who want to stay abreast of theory or just have a handy reference of the latest opening innovations.
