This Week's ChessLecture Show: Playing Against a Bad Piece
Monday, December 7, 2009 at 6:43PM Over on ChessLecture.com my latest presentation, "Playing Against a Bad Piece", has been posted. The idea is that sometimes our opponents have a piece we can shut out of the game. It's not that we're necessarily going to win it - though sometimes that's the end result - but that by locking it away somewhere, we can exploit its absence from the rest of the action. It's a useful and surprisingly common motif, and one that players should definitely include in their mental toolkit.
