Grischuk to Take Carlsen's Place in the Candidates
Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at 3:21PM
Couldn't resist mentioning this before calling it a day on the blog: Alexander Grischuk had been the next qualifier in line in the Grand Prix, so with Magnus Carlsen's withdrawal Grischuk got to take his place. More here.

Grischuk is a good candidate.
The pairings changed also. Kramnik and Aronian should meet in semifinals while Topalov will have a weaker one. And considering the live list, the 3 current strongest players (Kramnik, Aronian and Grischuk) are in the same bracket
Anand is one lucky man!
According to Danailov the rules do not allow for Carlsen to be replaced (unless of course FIDE change them mid cycle, which would strengthen Carlsen's case!)
