Caruana is an interesting choice. Definitely strong enough to challenge, but not so strong as to humiliate. Or, at least, Kasparov can hope to not be humiliated.
If Kasparov has a strong showing in this match, then perhaps we could expect to see him play a super tournament after that?

I wonder what Kasparov will need to score to gain rating points.
He would need to score some time on their clocks first, as rapid/blitz games are not FIDE-rated.
