Kavalek's Chess Column at the HuffPo
Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at 10:33PM The Huffington Post may cheer lefties and nauseate conservatives (a fact that may further cheer lefties), but happily for chess players of all political stripes they have given GM Lubosh Kavalek's outstanding chess column a new home. (The Washington Post dropped Kavalek's column several months ago, unfortunately.) His was the best newspaper chess column in the US that I was aware of, so it's good to see it up and running again, albeit on a biweekly rather than a weekly basis.
(Note: No comments, please, either cheering or booing the HuffPo.)

Not completely unrelated: in your previous blog your headline something like "chess, religion, philosophy, etc." but in this one it seems to be only about chess, even if other topics are not precluded. I know that for the most part this blog is about chess, but do you intend to open up discussion on other topics every once in a while?
Maybe, but not often. Anyway, it's not as if there's a shortage of websites on controversial issues.
Having just read his article I now find myself with a new page to add to my favourite pages :) Very easy to follow an understand and at the end he even gives his annotated PGNs. Thanks for the link Dennis!
Just a note: The HuffPo irritates many liberals (such as myself) as well, due to its constant pandering to nonsense and quackery. It is a constant reminder that woo and farce are as rampant among liberals (if not more-so) as they are among the average population. I scrolled down to their "Living" columns today, and most of it is just sheer crap.
Sorry, should have also mentioned that I loved that column at the WaPo, and am quite happy to see it at the HuffPo, despite their nonsense. Thanks for posting this, Dennis!
Great news! I loved Lubo's column in the Post and was heartbroken to see it go. Even if it's only biweekly, the column is much improved on HuffPo: twice the content, plus diagrams and playable boards.
