Dennis Monokroussos in Anand, Carlsen

In what was only a two-game final (my source had assumed four games, which was reasonable but mistaken), Magnus Carlsen won 1.5-.5 over Viswanathan Anand to win the Arctic Securities Chess Stars rapid event. He won the first game with White, slowly but inevitably breaking down Anand's resistance, and in game two held easily with Black in a Breyer Ruy Lopez.

Meanwhile, the Norwegian entrant won the other match too, by the same score, as Jon Ludvig Hammer beat Judit Polgar to take third place.
