That is to say, she lost her game today (badly: she was obliterated by Marie Sebag), but all that really matters for Nana Dzagnidze in the tournament is that Humpy Koneru not win it. On that front, Dzagnidze has grounds for happiness: Elina Danielan bounced back from her loss in round 8 with a win today, and that puts her 1.5 points ahead of Koneru with two rounds to go. Koneru tried for 106 moves, but couldn't beat Xu Yuhua. Barring a complete collapse by Danielan (plus some other good fortune for Koneru), Dzagnidze will qualify for a world championship match with Hou Yifan later this year.
