"In July 2004 he was arrested in Japan for having a revoked passport and detained for eight months until he was granted Icelandic citizenship as a way out of captivity."
This statement is factually incorrect. Fischer was traveling under a legitimate US Passport that was renewed under the Clinton Administration. He was picked up under an extradition treaty with Japan that would honor Fischer's crime from the 1992 match.
[DM: The passport had been legitimate, but was revoked in 2003 - see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bobby_Fischer#Detention_in_Japan.]
