We had just two weeks break from high-class chess, so did some of the Tashkent participants: Caruana just played in Bucharest, Ponomariov and Dominguez played in the Spanish League.
Or was this a sneeky reference to the Women World Championship? In that case, Morozevich's win against Kamsky (or Kamsky's loss against Morozevich) seems a bit reminiscent of the type of chess played in 'nearby' Khanty-Mansiysk.
Moro is back! He was the only winner in rd 2 (vs Caruana) so leads with 2/2. Up 11 rating points and into #13 in the world already. Great to see him back.
I love the grand prix setup. Really sorts out who the top players are over several tourneys. Will be watching with interest over the next couple of weeks.
