The Unive Crown Group was a short event, a double-round robin of four players, but despite its brevity Wesley So managed to clinch clear first with a round to go. His score of 4.5/6 (three wins, three draws) left him a full point and a half ahead of Michael Adams and (in a surprise) Robin van Kampen, who was by far the lowest-rated player in the tournament. Loek van Wely finished last with 1.5. He drew twice with his countryman and was abused by So and Adams.
