Happy Birthday, Vladimir Kramnik
Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at 12:16AM
The 14th world chess champion turns 38 today. I hope he and his family enjoy the day, forgetting the frustrations of the past few months, and comes back strong in the remainder of the year. His most important upcoming event is the World Cup starting this August, but before that there's Dortmund in early July and, starting tomorrow, the rapid Geneva Chess Masters (Nakamura, Mamedyarov, Polgar, etc.).
Vladimir Kramnik has played numerous great games, but as usual a nice though overly small sample of "notable" games can be found on his chessgames.com page, and his victory over yesterday's birthday celebrant is a great place to start.

Happy Birthday to him! I always admired his art. Hopefully he'll get the results again which he deserve.
By the way: That 2001 win is mind-blowing. I remember it quite well - must have been a rapid game.
