The late great Yugoslavian/Serbian grandmaster Svetozar Gligoric (1923-2012) was not only one of the world's strongest players in the 1950s and 1960s, but a man whose life off the chessboard was interesting as well. It is therefore good to see that New in Chess is planning to release his autobiography in the coming year (HT: Brian Karen); my suspicion is that it will be a book well worth buying, especially if it places prose first and the games in second. (There are already good books on his games, such as his I Play Against Pieces.)
