My apologies to Nana Dzagnidze fans, who may feel that she was jinxed by my last post praising her play in the event. She was doing well today, too, against Alexandra Kosteniuk - nearly winning at some point - but bit by bit the advantage slipped, and then in probable time trouble outfoxed herself. Almost her entire army was en prise, and for good measure her king found itself in a mating net.

Her loss, combined with Aleksandra Goryachkina's win in a rook ending against Tan Zhongyi, produced a change on the leaderboard. Now it's Goryachkina who leads by half a point with 4/5, half a point ahead of Dzagnidze. Kosteniuk, Tan Zhongyi, and Kateryna Lagno are all a further point behind with 2.5 points apiece.

The other two games featured the Muzychuk sisters almost losing, but escaping with draws. All four games can be found here, with my notes.
