Remembering Fedor Bohatirchuk
Thursday, November 30, 2017 at 12:03PM
Something of interest for chess history buffs: a piece on the relatively unknown Fedor Bohatirchuk, a Ukranian-Canadian IM whose chess accomplishments include a 3.5-.5 lifetime score against Mikhail Botvinnik. His eventful life might even be worthy of cinematic "immortality"...and in a way, has already achieved that honor. (It is claimed in the article that the character of Dr. Zhivago was inspired by him, though finding any confirmation of this is difficult.) Have a look.
