This Week's ChessVideos Show: Problems in the Budapest
Friday, July 2, 2010 at 1:32AM
Fans of the Drimer rook lift in the Budapest know what the happy ending looks like: the rook goes to h6, the queen to h4, and a quick and glorious massacre ensues. Unfortunately for the plan, but fortunately for chess, the game is too rich for such a simple recipe to blow White off the board (after all, what has he done wrong?), and in my show this week we'll see some of the problems. Indeed, it is Black who has the problems - especially if he sticks too closely to the rook lift plan.
See for yourself here. The show is free (free registration is required), and it will be available on-demand for the next month or so.
