This Week's ChessVideos Show: Prodigies Battle!
Dutch youngster Anish Giri looks like an obvious world championship contender in a few short years - what else would one expect from a 17-year-old 2700!? Still, even 2700s are fallible, and in a recent game with another prodigy, the 18-year-old Indian GM Parimarjan Negi, he came up short. It's not that Giri played badly, either - he didn't. Rather, it was a very fine attacking effort by Negi, who showed ingenuity in starting the attack and managed to sustain it for a long time.
The game is instructive as well, so viewers will get a 2-for-1: not just entertainment but also something to help improve their chess. So tune in here: the show is free, as always (one-time only free registration is required), and will be available on-demand for the next month or so.
