The Week in Chess has been around for a long time now - more than 23 years - and the lion's share of the credit goes to Mark Crowther. You can read a bit more about it here (and please follow the link to his discussion of the 1000th issue "anniversary"), and I strongly encourage you to make a donation. The easy access we all have nowadays to the world's top games is thanks to Mark more than any other individual on the planet, and for this the chess world owes him a massive debt of gratitude. Gratitude doesn't pay the mortgage or put food on the table, however, so let's chip in a little. (Besides, I'm not sure the guy has ever had a vacation. Maybe if we're really generous he can pay an assistant for a week or two, escape his computer, and relax on a beach on the Mediterranean.)
