Leela Chess: Rating Scaling?
With a little help from a reader, I set up Lc0 on my computer. Its CPU is pretty good, but the GPU isn't. (When buying the components back in the day I thought to myself, "What am I going to do with a high-end graphics card? Who needs that for a chess program?" Looks like I'm not going to retrospectively win the "Best Tech Prophet" award for 2017.)
Anyway, my low-end graphics card is good enough to have Lc0 play okay chess by human standards, but it's very far away from playing its best. Stockfish on my computer would crush my computer's Lc0. So...maybe I'll be in the market for a new graphics card, if an affordable card will generate a version of Lc0 that's strong enough to make it worthwhile. (Donations welcome!) The person who helped me set up Lc0 suggested an RTX 2060 card, which is pretty affordable. A subsequent commentator proposed instead a RTX 2070 card, which is more expensive - there's a bit of pain there, but it's not fatal - or a RTX 2080 Ti card, which really is too painful unless Lc0 plays 4000-level chess.
So, what I'd like to know, if my savvy and well-informed readers can supply the answer, is this: what ratings would each card produce? If an (approximate) absolute answer is available, great; if not, relative answers would still be useful (e.g., to make up some numbers out of thin air, the 2080 is 100 points stronger than the 2070, which is 50 points stronger than the 2060).
Thanks in advance for your help.
