Nanjing, Round 4: Bacrot Beats Anand
Magnus Carlsen continues to lead the tournament by half a point. He had some trouble against Vugar Gashimov, but scraped out a draw. Viswanathan Anand, on the other hand, was on his way to a reasonably comfortable draw when he just missed something in a bishop and two pawns vs. four pawns ending against Etienne Bacrot. Bacrot, surprisingly, is now in clear second. Veselin Topalov continued to struggle, getting absolutely nothing with White against Wang Yue, and he remains tied for last as we approach the halfway point.
Standings After Round 4:
1. Carlsen 3
2. Bacrot 2.5
3. Anand 2
4-6. Gashimov, Topalov, Wang Yue 1.5
Round 5 Pairings: Wang Yue - Bacrot, Anand - Gashimov, Carlsen - Topalov
