Today's Chessgames.com Game of the Day: Yudasin-Monokroussos
Sunday, February 21, 2010 at 10:25AM
It was a nice surprise to start my day with this news. Some of you will have seen the game already; for those of you haven't, have a look - it's not perfectly played, but it is entertaining and most picturesque.

Excellent play by black indeed.
Sweet. But what does the pun mean?
It's an exceedingly unimaginative joke on my name. "Mono" in common parlance is short for the viral disease mononucleosis.
Great game, one of the best GOTD in a while and a most entertaining one!
David2009: THis is a tremendous game by Dennis Monokroussos . See link below:

It's not so tremendous, just entertaining! The sac was very practical in a rapid game, but it's unsound.
Stop being modest. Take credit where it is due.
The game is great, you've mentioned it some time ago when a similar theme (sacking a piece to get connected passers) occured in one of the top games. Congratulations on making the GOTD :-)
It's not modesty, Daniel: I was objectively in real trouble in the opening, and there were other errors too. The game is a fond one in my memory, but if I pretended this was some brilliancy on my part it would be a lie.
