Caruana #6 in the World
Saturday, March 10, 2012 at 9:07PM
Right now Fabiano Caruana is half a point out of first at the Reykjavik Open, having drawn his fifth round game with Gawain Jones, but even so he retains his status as #6 on the Live Chess Ratings with a rating of 2771.1, earned after his 4-0 start. (Ivans Cheparinov and Sokolov are 5-0.) I don't know about all of you, but I didn't see this coming: #6! All I can say, once again, is what I've been saying to the Italians for several years: Send him back! (Or since I'm trying to persuade the Italians, let's say it in Italian: Rimandarlo indietro!)

Dennis I second that motion. All in favor say Aye!
I was speculating about whether or not "the Fab" and Lev Aronian have been aided by what appears to have been more focus on Giri and Carlsen? Perhaps it's a mistaken impression; it just feels to me that they moved up whilst people weren't paying as much attention!
D'accordo!
