Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays
Sunday, December 23, 2012 at 10:15PM
I will keep monitoring (and approving) comments over the next week or so, and it's possible that I'll offer an occasional post, but for the next week or so I'm going to take a little vacation from the blog and most everything else to enjoy the holidays and to relax and recreate. So don't worry: I'm not intending to end the blog or anything drastic at the moment; I'm just taking a little time off.
Merry Christmas - especially to those who take the holiday in its most robust sense - and Happy Holidays!

Merry Christmas to you too, Dennis, and enjoy the vacation!
Happy holidays Dennis! I hope you have a nice vacation! :)
Merry Christmas and Happy New 2013!
Merry Christmas from Ken & Co.
Last year I linked in your Christmas item an article with the internal and historical case that the Dec. 25 date is substantially correct. Now, in the current issue of the American Scientific Affiliation's magazine Perspectives on Science and Christian Faith, there is an article by James A. Nollet giving evidence that the traditional late-1-BC year is also closer than the rough-consensus figure of 4 BC (or late-5 BC). It is titled "Astronomical and Historical Evidence for Dating the Nativity in 2 BC"---I've been unable to find an online link, but here is Nollet's genial review of a similar book, and here is Nollet's Facebook page.
Long and interesting interview with Kasparov on Slovenian television (in English!):
